Step into the Sala Nobile, a privileged space where the golden age of the Baroque comes alive. Once an assembly hall for seminary students, this room retains a rare and striking feature: cartouches along the frieze quoting the Council of Trent—a subtle reminder of history woven into the very walls.

Here, there are no labels to interrupt your journey. Instead, you are free to wander, letting the paintings, furniture, silver, porcelain, and Venetian glass transport you into the refined atmosphere of an 18th-century Maltese noble household. Every detail invites you to feel the elegance and domestic grandeur of the period, as though stepping into a living time capsule.

This immersive experience was envisioned by Dr. John Bugeja Caruana, the generous donor of the entire collection. His goal was simple yet profound: to give visitors, now and in the future, the chance to experience the warmth, beauty, and sophistication of 18th-century domestic life.

Information materials are available should you wish to explore the collection in greater depth.
