What are your opening hours?
The Museum is open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

How much is entry to the Museum (and the Cathedral)?
Admission is combined and gives access to both St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Cathedral Museum. Reduced rates apply for students, seniors, and groups. Children under a certain age may enter free when accompanied by an adult. Please refer to the ticketing page.

Do I need to book in advance?
No prior booking is necessary for individual visitors. However, for group visits, educational visits, or guided tours, advance booking is highly recommended.

What kind of collections does the Museum hold?
The Museum houses a rich array of sacred art, manuscripts, vestments, silver, woodwork, coins, and religious artefacts—many gifts donated by community members through the years.

Are there temporary or special exhibitions?
Yes. In addition to the permanent collection, the Museum hosts thematic and temporary exhibitions. Please check our website or social media for current and upcoming shows.

Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Ramps and lifts provide access to most galleries, and museum staff are ready to assist you.

Are restrooms accessible?
A: Yes. Accessible toilets are available for visitors.

Are visitors on the autism spectrum welcome, and what supports are offered?
A: Absolutely. We aim to be inclusive and supportive. Services and features include:

  • Visual guides / social narratives to help prepare you for the visit (layout, gallery flow, rules)
  • Option to visit during quieter hours (e.g. early morning)
  • Designated quiet or low-stimulation areas for breaks
  • Trained museum staff aware of sensory sensitivities and able to adjust lighting or volume when possible
  • Flexibility for pacing — you may move through at your own speed
  • Advance communication: if you let us know before your visit, we can tailor the experience to your needs

Are service animals permitted?
Yes, registered service animals are welcome in the Museum.

Is photography allowed?
Yes, non-flash photography is permitted in most galleries. Professional equipment, tripods, or video setups require prior approval from the Museum Office.

Do you have cloakroom or bag storage facilities?
We have a limited cloakroom service. We recommend that visitors travel light.

Are there refreshments on-site?
The Museum does not currently host a café, but Mdina offers a selection of cafés and restaurants just a short walk away.

Are guided tours available?
A: Yes, guided tours can be booked in advance. Guides can adapt to the needs of each group, including offering slower pacing, quiet moments, or thematic focus.

Can school or educational groups visit?
A: Definitely. We welcome school and educational groups and offer age-appropriate programs. Advance booking is required so we can prepare materials and staffing.
